What is the role of a Corporate Ambassador?
What is the first job and order of priority?
I believe a Corporate Ambassador has two primary areas that a major impact can be made:
Internal is within the company and between leadership and the rest of the team members (or employees).
External is outside the company and includes customers, vendors, and other’s within the specific industry that the business operates.
Whether internal or external, the Corporate Ambassador’s primary job is to bring people together. Find common ground. Make life better for all parties. Create more peace and feelings of good will so that the business will improve.
Internally, if leadership already considers employees team members, then the battle is half won. If leadership considers the people employees, then there is work to do.
Externally, if leadership considers customers and vendors as partners, then the battle is already half won. If leadership doesn’t consider these folks in the highest regard, then there is much work to do.
Externally, if leadership considers others in the industry as healthy competition, then the battle is half won. If leadership considers the industry as adversaries and people to beat, crush and destroy, then there is work to do.
If the battle is already half won, then then job of the Corporate Ambassador is to take the company from good to great.
If their is much work to do, then the job of the Corporate Ambassador is to find common ground, build some bridges, and begin a mutually beneficial conversation.
